We truly appreciate the incredible opportunity to join the Darmasiswa program at UNIMED. It has been an eye-opening experience that goes far beyond the classroom. Studying on campus while being immersed in the heart of Indonesian culture has been both exciting and deeply meaningful.
From day one, we felt welcomed—not just as students, but as part of a bigger cultural family. The learning environment at UNIMED is warm, supportive, and inspiring. Lecturers are approachable and genuinely passionate about teaching, always encouraging us to explore, ask questions, and express ourselves in Bahasa Indonesia with growing confidence.
What makes this journey even more special is how learning happens everywhere—not just during lessons, but through real-life experiences. We’ve had the chance to participate in cultural events, attend workshops on traditional dance, music, and batik, and even join local ceremonies and culinary festivals. Each activity offered a window into the beauty and diversity of Indonesian heritage.
Exploring Medan through cultural tours has also been a highlight. We’ve visited historical landmarks, interacted with local artisans, and learned about the unique stories that shape this vibrant city. These moments brought language and culture together in such a natural and impactful way, making everything we learn in class come alive.
More than just improving our language skills, this program has broadened our perspective of the world. We’ve connected with people from different backgrounds, made lasting friendships, and developed a deeper respect for cultural differences and shared human values.
We are truly grateful to be part of this inspiring and enriching exchange. Our time at UNIMED has not only helped us grow academically, but has also given us memories and insights that will stay with us for a lifetime.
